Going to the Chiropractor is a new experience for many people. Maybe you’ve heard through a friend or have done some research online. It’s possible that you are just fed up with living in pain and it’s time to do something about it. Either way, your first visit will consist of getting to know the chiropractor and discussing your history, current condition and goals.
As with any doctor’s visit, you’ll start by filling out some new patient paperwork. Upon meeting with the doctor, you’ll discuss your concerns and expectations as well as have the chance to ask any questions you may have. We will then perform a physical examination, including a computerized scan of your nervous system. Once this is complete, we’ll take a look at the overall results of our conversation and the exams. Together, we will come up with a plan of action that is best for you and proceed accordingly. Once a plan is established we will proceed to a chiropractic adjustment.
For patients who are hurting, have experienced a recent injury, time of stress, traumatic life event, or lack of movement, then more frequent adjustments will be expected in order to make quicker progress toward bringing the patient back to health. For those who are maintaining and feeling great, I recommend getting checked at least once a month. This is a great maintenance track for most patients. Many people don’t actually know how well they were designed to feel. Once you start feeling better and seeing improvements in many areas of your life, you will get a better feeling for what a good schedule is for you. Because everyone is different, we will work together to find the perfect plan for you!
